Current situation in Thailand: Implications for the 13th World Conference
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Many of you have shared with us your questions and concerns regarding the recent political turmoil in Bangkok and its implications for the 13th world conference. Dr. Mani, Secretary General and I are now in Bangkok with the Thai Host Committee who are doing a magnificent job in planning for the conference, which we hope we will be able to proceed with. However, we felt it prudent that we provide answers to some of the most frequently asked questions from our members.
-
Will ICEVI proceed with the conference?
We certainly hope so! However, we are currently monitoring the situation with our colleagues on the host committee and will make a final decision on or before May 3rd.
-
Will I still be able to take advantage of the early-bird registration fee?
Yes, the host committee has graciously agreed to extend the deadline for the reduced early-bird registration fee to May 15th.
-
What will happen if I have already registered and the conference is postponed or cancelled?
If the conference is postponed, your registration fee will be applied to the rescheduled conference. If the conference is cancelled, your registration fee will be refunded.
-
I want to purchase my airline ticket. What should I do?
We recommend that individuals not purchase restricted non-refundable tickets at this time until a final decision is made.
