Important Landmarks of the Recent Past

1. ICEVI organised its 12th World Conference at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 16 to 21 July 2006
2. ICEVI acting in partnership with the World Blind Union has launched a global campaign on Education for All Children with Visual Impairment (EFA-VI)
3. The following have become international members on the EXCO of ICEVI. All are making an annual contribution of at least

4. A Memorandum of Understanding with the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) has been signed.
5. ICEVI extended support for the UN Convention on Rights of Disabled People.
6. Assisted the World Bank in the process of development of a tool kit for education of children with visual disabilities.

8. Handbook for the Officers of ICEVI has been updated.
9. ON-NET/ICEVI Mathematics Project has brought out a Publication by name "Mathematics Made Easy for Children with Visual Impairment."
10. Twelve Issues of the Educator have been published since the World Conference held in July 2002. The Educator is now available in Japanese on the ICEVI website.
11. Twelve Issues of ICEVI E-News have been published since 2002.
12. ICEVI has published its Quadrennial report for the information of its supporters.
13. ICEVI and the Deafblind International have signed a Memorandum of Understanding
14. Regional chairs of ICEVI have been asked to popularise the EFA-VI global campaign in the regions. Process is underway to select EFA-VI focus countries during the implementation of the campaign during its first phase (2006-2010)
