As I write the introduction to this issue of The Educator, spring is just arriving in the Boston area and all of us look forward to an increase in off-campus activities for all of our students here at Perkins School for the Blind.

We also recognize Coen de Jong as he begins his presidency
of ICEVI for the next five years. Coen is well-known to all of us in the field
of blindness, and we wish him well as he helps to develop and expand services
